You will encounter many spammers and trolls over time. That’s why twitch followers only mode is very important. Twitch offers a chat restriction option called follower-only mode. In fact, this is one of the most important ways to prevent hate content, attacks, harassment and toxic content. Only your followers write to your chat, so you protect yourself from messages from users who visit your malicious stream. This means that accounts must follow the account to be able to comment.
To turn on Followers Only Mode, go to the creator dashboard on Twitch.tv. Then go to “Preferences” and click Moderation, at the bottom is the Followers Only Mode tab. This will allow any creator to turn on Followers Only Chat and even set how long the mod lasts.
Twitch also offers other restrictions for the followers only mode. When follower-only chat is enabled, you can set a time period during which a user must watch the channel before they can write to your chat. You can set this by typing /followers (duration) in your chat. You can limit the chat to a maximum of 3 months followers only mode, meaning a viewer must have followed you for three months to be able to chat.
For example, for 30 minutes; /followers 30m; for 2 hour /followers 2h; for 1 week /followers 1w; for 3 month /followers 3mo.
To turn off the followers only mode, all you have to do is write /followersoff in your chat.One of the most important features of the followers only chat mode is that it prevents bot messages.
